Celebrating the Amazing

 Jasmine Jaiyeola

In many communities, there are people who stand out not just for their accomplishments, but for their shining passion and dedication towards making a positive difference in the lives of others. Jasmine Jaiyeola, a graduating senior from Richfield High School, is a sparkling example of this extraordinary type of person who has achieved both great accomplishments and has worked hard to make the community a brighter place. Jasmine's heart and mind radiate with a deep commitment to community service, academic excellence, and a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. This community spotlight shines a light on an amazing young woman who lights up the world with her sense of community, her kindness and empathy, and the determination and purpose in all that she does.

Throughout her high school career, Jasmine has exemplified leadership, teamwork, and compassion in various roles. As a member of the National Honor Society, she worked incredibly hard to demonstrate academic excellence, while also dedicating herself to numerous service projects. She also involved herself in important clubs and activities that demonstrate her core values and passions. Her involvement in 'Me to We' showcases her global awareness and commitment to social causes, reflecting her belief in the power of community and collective action and to bring about meaningful change. She also was a part of the Safe & Supportive Schools committee, stepping up to use her voice to create change and to make a difference so that all students at her school felt seen, valued, and heard.

Her dedication to teamwork, leadership, and community spirit also show her strong passion for building strong communities. She played volleyball, served as a track manager, and could often be found enthusiastically cheering on friends and classmates at football, basketball, soccer, swim, and track meets. Her presence on and off the court shows her support for all and her belief in fostering a strong sense of community.

Beyond sports, she has participated in and volunteered with Young Life, nurturing connections with her peers and positively impacting younger students through mentorship and support. Outside of school, Jasmine continues to make a difference. She currently works at New Horizon Academy, where she takes care of and loves having fun with children, showing her passion for helping others from an early age.

Jasmine is the middle child of three in her family, and will be a first-generation college student this fall! Her journey and her future dreams are a testament to her hard work, determination, shining heart, and wonderful family. Next year, she will be attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she plans to major in Psychology within the College of Liberal Arts. Her goal is to become a therapist who works to help children and teens, driven by her desire to support young people in navigating the complexities of mental health.

Jasmine's journey through high school is an inspiring example of the power of amazingly hard work, dedication, empathy, and an incredible commitment to our community. As she prepares to begin her next chapter at the U of M, she leaves behind a legacy as an incredible role model for younger people, demonstrating the importance of building others up, supporting people through challenges, and making everyone feel included. It is without a doubt that her actions will continue to inspire others for years to come!

Despite this amazing girl being off to college in a few weeks, she still has availability throughout this summer and upcoming school year for night and weekend babysitting.  If you are interested in her working with your family, complete this form, and she will get into contact with you!
